Disney Vacation Tips & Advice
Real tips from real Disney vacation experience. Practical advice to make your family's trip better.
Tip 1: Start Planning 6-8 Months Out
The best accommodations and dining reservations book early. Character experiences fill up fast. Give yourself time to plan without rushing, but not so much time that you're planning for months.
Tip 2: Pick Your Park Days Based on Your Family
Don't feel obligated to visit all four parks. Some families do 3-4 parks and love it. Others do 2 parks and have more relaxed days. There's no "right" way—just the way that works for YOUR family.
Tip 3: Budget More Than You Think
Food, snacks, souvenirs, and "just one more thing" add up fast. Plan for 20-30% more spending than you think you'll need. You'll be glad you did.
Tip 4: Rope Drop Isn't Everything
Yes, arriving early gets you shorter lines. But if your family isn't morning people, start your day when everyone's happy. A relaxed family beats an exhausted family.
Tip 5: Build in Downtime
Your kids (and you) will be tired. Plan at least one afternoon rest time—even if it's just returning to your hotel for an hour. It makes evening park time so much better.
Tip 6: Make a Simple Packing List
Comfortable shoes (seriously), sunscreen, portable phone chargers, basic medications, and one outfit per day. Don't overpack. You'll thank yourself.
